Trying Something New

I decided to try something new. I had this idea for a while now and just got around to executing it. The pendants on all the necklaces are made of fun-patterned fabrics. The fabric is stiffened with decoupage glue. These pendants are enhanced with silver and crystal beads and silver leafing around the edges of the fabric. The fabric makes these necklaces one of a kind. It gives them a handmade quality. I am listing these three necklaces on Ebay later today and making more. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas season.

New Christmas/Winter Painting

Here are my new painting for the start of the winter holiday season. The first one is called "Snow Babies". She keeps the fuzzy, orphaned owl babies safe and warm; for she is their new mommy. The second one is called "Found". Finding a lost pet brings you such joy. This girl found her little kitty on a cold, snowy night. She cradles him in her loving arms as she carries him back to the house. These two paintings will be up on Ebay tomorrow evening (Nov. 22). Hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving!

New Paintings Finally

I've been so busy with school. And now I finally got around to some painting. It's a little late for Halloween paintings...but these paintings are not necessarily Halloween themed. But I guess they could be. The first one is called "Autumn Masquerade Gossip". These ladies are trying to be secretive about sharing some juicy gossip. ^_^ The second one is called "The Velvet Ribbon". This one has a known story behind it. But if you have not heard of "The Velvet Ribbon" by Ann McGovern...here is the link. READ HERE
These paintings will be up on Ebay tomorrow evening.

Hope everyone has a wicked Halloween!

Going to see Cirque du Soleil- Mystere at Treasure Island

The Luxor Hotel

Bellagio fountain show

I got back from Las Vegas very late Friday. My boyfriend's parents took us on the trip. It was very generous of them, to invite me along. I had so much fun seeing the amazing hotels, eating at buffets, seeing a Cirque du Soleil show, and going to parks such as Zion and Red Rock Canyon. Sad that it's over but it's nice be home too. Now I need to get back into the normal swing of things like school, and back to painting! ^_^

Whimsical Halloween Paintings!

Before we know it this whimsical holiday will be upon us. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love the decorating for it. The first painting is called "The Queen of Halloween". Her majesty watches over this haunting holiday with her amethyst eyes; and her crow on her shoulder, eying her shiny jewels, as they often do ^_^. The second painting is called "Black Magic". With a bewitching smile and her black magic fluttering near, she'll always have her way.
These enchanted paintings are up on Ebay right now!

New Paintings!!!

I have two new paintings that I finally got around to this weekend. The first one is called "Heating Pad". It's inspired by how kitties can become our own personal heating pads, but not always when one is needed ^_^. The second one is called "Madame Butterfly". This painting has a new take on the original depiction of Madame Butterfly. I decided to use some autumn colors since it will be that time year soon enough. These paintings will be on Ebay tonight. Hope everyone has a wonderful week (but the weekend can't get here soon enough ^_^) .

What You've missed...

Back to School Tea Party!Above are photos of the "Back-to-School" tea party I had. It was just for my mom, my sister, and me. I have been reading a book series called "The Luxe" and they are always having tea parties so I decided to have one of my own. I made some tea cookies, cream cheese pinwheels and other snacks...and then I picked a spot in the garden and set up a table. It was really fun ^_^. I will definitely have another one soon.

I have not updated my blog in while because I have been busy with classes starting up and commissioned paintings. I am attending Maryville University in St. Louis, MO. I transferred there from Jefferson College, a junior college...so it is my first year at MU. I have two years at MU before I graduate. I am majoring in Graphic Design, so all my classes are geared toward that since I got my General Education classes our of the way in the first two years. I am excited about that part ^_^. The part that is kind of a drag is the 40 minute drive four days a week.

Below are the two commissioned pieces (both16x20) I worked on for the "Siamese Lady". She wanted one to display for each main holiday. She has a blue-point siamese named Sydney and a lilac-point siamese named Siba.
Well that's all I really have for now. Hopefully I can gets some new paintings done this weekend to be listed on Ebay.

Back From Our Destin Vacation

It was so nice to go to Destin, Florida again. We haven't been there in a long time. The beach was beautiful and the waters were so clear. We had lots of fun going to the Harbor Walk Village, gift shops, and out to eat. A little sad that it's over...we were all looking forward to it for a long time. But I am glad to be back home to see my kitty...he missed me so much. He just couldn't get enough pettings when we got home. So needy. ^_^ Now I need to start painting and thinking about school starting up soon. This summer went by so fast!

2 New Paintings!

The first one is called "Sun-kissed"(8x10). It is such a good feeling to lay in the grass and soak up the warm sunshine. She has lots of gold detailing to give her that sun-kissed glow. The second one is called "Pettings, Please!"(4x6). Sometimes our little, fury felines can be very needy when they want lots of love and attention. These paintings will both be up on Ebay on July 25th like the one posted below. Enjoy the sunshine!

3 New Paintings

I finally got around to doing some paintings. The first one is called "Promenade". This girl is dressed to perfection with her elegant hat and pretty kitty. The next two kind of go together. One is "Energy" and the other "Serenity". These are opposites on the spectrum. The colors and symbols in each painting represent the mood. They both have metallic paint to give them some sparkle and 3D butterflies for whimsy ^_^. These paintings will all be up on Ebay this evening.

Weekend at the Lake

Haven't been on my blog lately...spent a weekend at the lake with my brother, sister, and our good friends. We have been friends since I was 3 years old; they are next-door neighbors. Time has never split us up and I don't think it ever will.

Now I must, must, must get back to painting. I have some good ideas sketched out. ^_^

Two New Whimsical Paintings

Here are two new paintings that will be up on Ebay soon. I decided to do some whimsical ones. ^_^ The first one is called "The Owl Maiden" and the second one is called "Oceana". These things inspire me. I love owls, especially barn owls. They are so majestic. And I have always wanted to be a mermaid. I always used to pretend to be one when I was little. Hope everyone is having a bright, summery day!

Roses Just Because...

I got these beautiful roses from my boyfriend, Zack, on Friday.
I asked him, "Why did you bring me roses?"
His answer was, "Just because I love you."
<3>

This next photo is another commissioned piece for the same lovely lady I did some for a while ago. In all, I am doing 6 paintings for her house. It is a match to the kitty in the sink. Hope she likes this one as well.

Summer Time

This summertime weather puts me in a nature mood. I painted this sweet nature girl today.
It is called "Keeper of the Garden". I went a little crazy with this one. I actually collaged real leaves along with decorative paper. I put several coats of modge podge over the leaves so they should be good. Just felt like trying something a little different. I will be putting this painting up on Ebay soon.

I'm Back and Trying Something New

It's been a long time since I have posted or painted anything. I have been so busy with the end of the school year before I graduate with my Associates of Art from Jefferson College. I am very excited to be going to Maryville University for Graphic Design in the fall. I received a pretty good scholarship for my portfolio so I am pretty pleased with that. Now that I am out of school for the summer...I just couldn't wait to start painting again. So here is the result of my long awaited painting time. I love vintage stuff so I decided to paint a vintage 20's girl. She will be put up on Ebay soon. :)

I hope everyone has been having a great spring and ready for the summer to come. I will definitely be looking around at blogs to see what's new. Can't wait to see the awesome art that is being created!!!
